The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) defense agency. DLA provides worldwide logistics support for the missions of the Military Departments and the Unified Combatant Commands under conditions of peace and war. It also provides logistics support to other DoD Components and certain Federal agencies, foreign governments, international organizations, and others as authorized.Key Requirements: Drug Testing Designated Position:Yes Supervisory Probation:Required Major Duties:Position Description #U2158; Incumbent may expect duties which include 75% temporary duty (TDY) travel. Directs the work of the DLA Continuous Process Improvement Office and serves as the DLA Program Manager (PM) for CPI. Chairs the DLA CPI Board and directs/oversees the work of multi-functional, multi-activity DLA integrated process teams (IPTs) and working groups addressing various CPI issues. The scope of the work directed includes the management, administration, regulation, coordination and overall control of DLA programs, strategies, and practices for DLA CPI implementation and projects aimed at improving complex DLA business, acquisition, supply chain management and logistics support processes, to include increasing the speed of process outcomes/products/services and reducing costs. Develops and presents briefings/reports on the status of DLA CPI projects and overall CPI implementation to the DLA Corporate Board/EXCOM. The incumbent formulates policy and procedures and provides supporting and process tools, automation to support a robust practitioning of CPI across DLA. Serves as the senior consultant and principal advisor for all DLA issues concerning CPI implementation and policy changes affecting the DLA CPI strategy and program.
