Job Description:
The essential function of the Safety Manager is to promote a safe and healthy working environment for all employees, subcontractors and vendors by evaluating safety performance and procedures, investigate and report all accidents and develop/implement safety and health programs. This position will ensure compliance with applicable state and federal laws, company polices and procedures, and labor agreements. During the construction phase of our project, the Safety Manager will interface with the General Contractor on safety issues, interface with subcontractors, project manager and internal support group on a daily basis to ensure that the project safety requirements and specifications are met. Create and submit reports, develop and enforce policies, procedures, programs, standards and design criteria affecting construction safety. Coordinate construction safety program development and implementation with General Contractor. After the construction phase of our project, the Safety Manager will contribute to the health and safety of all employees through the development and implementation of effective health and safety programs. Will oversee compliance of such programs through audits, investigations and reviews. Will coordinate all health and safety training to contribute to a reduction in operating costs and recurrence of accidents. Will develope emergency preparedness plans and provide specific guidance in implementation of the plan.
