Manage the buying department including the Head Buyer and various buying positions Deliver a customer-focused product assortment that meets company financial objectives Determine product flow, pricing, promotional strategies and product messages Direct and support merchandising of stores Run and analyze reports on product and brand velocity and utilize to make appropriate buying selections Manage and react to returns Proactively contact vendors to have guaranteed sales slow movers credited or replaced as per agreements Identify product growth opportunities and drive sales based on trends and market conditions Gain alignment with business internal and external partners Hire, train, develop staff and perform evaluations Exercise discretion and independent judgment Communicate project timelines and budget Partner with Store Managers and Regional Managers to design and coordinate store merchandising based on promos Drive development of promotional strategies Know, analyze and react to current industry and category trends.
