Job Description:
The Executive Director is a full-time, professional staff person whose primary responsibility is to manage the operation and growth of the organization. The position is based in Eugene, Oregon. Additional Qualifications: Required: Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to environmental protection. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Proven fundraising and grant-writing success. Knowledge of, and experience in, building a major donor program and cultivating major donors. Strong organizational and program development experience and staff team-building skills. Strong administrative skills. Demonstrated ability to understand and manage finances. Experience and ability to work cooperatively with a governing Board of Directors. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with a broad range of people. Willingness and ability to travel. Four-year college degree. Ten years of relevant work experience, including five years experience with non-profit organizations and three to five years at a management level. Experience in communicating to and working with the media. Desired (a plus but not must): Knowledge of pesticide hazards and alternatives. Experience in utilizing litigation as a tool to further specific environmental policy goals. Experience in mediation/conflict resolution.
