Job Description:
Represent the Company as a trustee on jointly trustee employee benefit plans. Monitor changes in state and Federal labor laws and apply such laws in assigned area. Oversee Associate Relations persons in responding to employee and grievances and arbitrations and represent the company in these matters. You will be responsible for union relations at operating levels. Coordinate with Vice President of Labor Relations to design and apply personnel and labor relations policies which will best achieve the goals of the corporation. Interface with other functional and department heads, wholesale distribution centers, and coordinate departmental efforts in the areas of labor relations. Participate in the formulation of broad policies and long-range goals, objectives, plans, programs and projects. Respond to employee and customer complaints regarding labor related matters. Provide advice to store, division and general office management on employee discipline under union contract, labor relations and negotiation strategies. Provide technical assistance to other departments as required. BEST INDUSTRY - Retail BEST DEPARTMENT - Human Resources Skills: Bachelors Degree is required. Law degree (Preferred) with practice experience in NLRB and arbitration representation; significant experience and proven record as chief negotiator in collective bargaining; significant experience as trustee in large Taft-Hartley health and welfare and pension benefit plans. Qualified candidates must possess strong knowledge of governmental regulations and all laws relating to employment and employee relations.
