Job Description: Looking for an Opportunity of a Lifetime
AGENCY SNAPSHOT: Hospice of Northeastern Illinois is a 26 year young not-for-profit Hospice, serving six counties in northeastern Illinois but headquartered in Barrington -- about 35 miles northwest of Chicago’s loop. The agency operates with a $10 million budget and is in the midst of a $20 million capital campaign to construct a free standing Hospice Home and Center for Care. The agency cares for about 1,500 patients per year as well as 5,000 bereaved clients annually. A few things that distinguish HNI are a growing pediatric program, a special pre-Hospice program, and a special grief camp for children. HNI is Medicare certified, licensed by IDPH and fully accredited by The Joint Commission.
POSITION SUMMARY: President/CEO (Chief Executive Officer) is appointed by the Board of Directors and serves as Chief Executive Officer of Hospice and the Hospice Foundation. The President/CEO is directly responsible for the stewardship of 140 employees and 300 volunteers, the quality of clinical care, financial performance, the agency’s capital campaign and new building project, and the overall strategic direction of the agency. The president is also responsible for fostering and exemplifying the organization’s values of respect, ethics, service and challenge.

7. An ambassador who can effectively represent the agency to volunteers, staff, donors, physicians, community partners and the boards.
8. A critical thinker who also has analytical skills and who can help the agency respond to industry challenges, staff issues, and community interests.
EDUCATION: 1. Bachelor’s Degree required. Masters Degree preferred.
2. Minimum of five (5) years senior leadership experience in the field of public health, hospital administration, or health related organization; hospice experience a plus.
3. Must have knowledge of health care policies, reimbursement practices and accrediting and licensing standards.
