Job Description:
Citizenship Required. Relocation expenses are not authorized. Must pass a pre-employment security investigation and drug screening. A one year trial/probationary period may be required. Major Duties: Serves as the USMS Safety and Occupational Health Manager responsible for ensuring safe and healthful working conda range of light industrial and law enforcement activities that include handling prisoners, (conducive to blood borne & airborne pathogen transmission), recycling programs, motor vehicles, hazardous material, emergency evacuation plans, use of personal protective equipment, body armor etc. Plans, develops, and manages the USMS Safety and Occupational Health Program. The incumbent develops specific procedural and programmatic guidelines and methodologies for the USMS Safety and Occupational Health Program. Plans, develops, direct, and evaluates a comprehensive safety and occupational health inspection and enforcement program for USMS headquarters and district operations. Reviews work places to ensure compliance with safety and occupational health standards/regulations, encourages and assists USMS management and employees in achieving voluntary compliance; and establishes abatement schedules. Qualifications:ltidisciplinary subject matter experts in facilitating organizational consensus. 4. Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources. 5. Knowledge of safety and occupational health management concepts, principles, practices, procedures, body of laws, regulations and precedent decisions required to make recommendations for the operations of safety, environment, emergency management and occupational health programs. 6. Ability to supervise.
