Job Description:
Provide assistance to students, alumni, faculty and staff in areas of: career choice; career planning, research and implementation; choice of majors; job search strategies and readiness; career library resources; and graduate school research, preparation and application. Assist the director with special projects, programs, presentations and research. Serve on counseling team, assuming responsibilities for alcohol awareness counseling and education; first year student counseling; and administration of grants as necessary. student development and education or experience in personal counseling, social work or health education. Candidates must possess strong communication skills; knowledge of traditional college student issues and concerns; demonstrated ability to oversee multiple tasks with attention to detail; understanding of career development process; presentation and public speaking skills; and the ability to relate well with students, faculty, staff and employers. Must be a self-starter and possess the ability to work with a minimal amount of supervision. A bachelor's degree is required, preferably in the areas of student affairs, counseling or closely related field.
