Job Description:
This position is focused on the First year Experience and works closely with the Assistant Director (programs) on the design and implementation of first year program initiatives. This is a 12 month full-time exempt position.Essential Functions:1. Responsible for assisting in the planning, development and evaluation of Fall and Spring training of Resident Advisors and staff in-service training.2. Plan, organize, and direct student activities and programs within the residence hall.3. Interpret and explain College philosophy, policies, expectations, and regulations to individual students and groups in the residence hall. 4. Become acquainted with residents to facilitate referrals to appropriate academic and/or administrative departments.5. Provide appropriate counseling, advice and support to students around academic and personal growth concerns.6. Serve as the primary hearing officer for judicial matters concerning students residing in the residence hall.7. Advise the Residence Housing Association (RHA).8. Supervise and evaluate performance of RA/Senior RA staff members.9. Represent the Office of Residence Life on designated committees as assigned by the Director of Residence Life.10. Create an inclusive environment for Graduate and Transfer students through programming and additional initiatives.11. Establish effective working relationships with other campus offices and departments to ensure quality services for the resident population.
