Job Description:
This candidate will provide oversight of electrical engineering activities for major expansion and revamp for assigned capital projects. He/She will review and approves the work completed by engineering contractors and directly performs engineering as necessary. Will participate in project management and engineering duties on capital projects that are primarily electrical in nature, including AFE preparation, equipment and material purchasing, budget attainment, status reporting, project implementation, commissioning and completion.
This person should provide electrical technical liaison between the engineering and construction contactors, corporate electrical subject matter experts, refinery electrical personnel, electricity provider and the project team, as necessary to support the projects. Should provide oversight and direct involvement to all phases of electrical work on the assigned capital projects -design, procurement, construction, checkout and startup. Candidate should also participate in factory and field quality control and assurance activities related to the electrical components of the assigned capital project, applies to construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning. Participates in incident investigations and generating incident reports or failures analysis for adverse incidents involving plant electrical system disturbances and electrical equipment failures.
Job Requirements:
Candidates must have industry experience.
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required.
Minimum 5 years experience in industrial plant required, preferably in the refining or petrochemical industry.
Must be experienced in electrical distribution up to 69KV, large project execution both engineering and field construction, protective relay coordination, application and testing, and hazardous area classifications.
Must have a working knowledge of the National Electrical Code and API RP 500.
Must be capable of communicating effectively with refinery and project management, engineering contractors, construction contractors, operations and maintenance personnel, and equipment and material suppliers.
