Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY: Provides leadership in establishing and maintaining strong internal controls for Claims System. Directs a coordinated team including, but not limited to, 1) provider and member claims accounting, 2) claims payment recoveries, and 3) Outside Medical Services SOX oversight. Provides expert advice to all levels of management regarding the proper design and testing of the control environment to support accurate and meaningful financial reporting. Provides guidance to ensure a culture of compliance, ethics and integrity. Ensure accurate and relevant financial reporting in compliance with General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) standards, Department of Insurance (DOI) standards, National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) standards and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 to ensure favorable review by all external auditors. Possess a thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) and the Committee on Sponsoring Organizations (COSO) framework to ensure proper design and operation of manual and automated (system) controls within the control environment.
