Job Description:
This position will provide support services to students, supervise Resident Assistants, Community Assistants and Hall Monitors, oversee all educational, social, and operational activities, as well as adjudicate student discipline cases. Collaborate with RA staff to implement student development based floor/hall programming and supervise RA's in programming budget; Advise Residence Hall Council, attend meetings and programs; Serve as a hearing officer for violations of policy, focusing on educational and developmental sanctions; Facilitate student interaction and provide opportunities for their growth & development: Select, train, supervise and evaluate Hall Monitor staff; Participate in Resident Assistant selection process; Plan and conduct weekly staff meetings; Facilitate hall/area opening and closing procedures; Conduct monthly health and safety inspections; Coordinate staff office operations to include record-keeping, housing administrative paperwork, and on-campus mail dissemination to hall/area; Coordinate front-desk operation to include RA and Hall Monitor staffing coverage and record-keeping; Work/communicate closely with Director and Assistant Director of University Housing to ensure accurate administrative processes; Maintain regularly scheduled office hours, balancing daytime and evening availability; Attend sector, department and area staff meeting, in-service training and individual meeting with Assistant Dean of Student Affairs; Respond to students and parents in person and via telephone on residential life issues; Adjudicate misconduct cases with an educational focus and in accordance with the University Judicial System; Respond as on-call staff for mental health and other emergency crises. Participate on crisis management team.
