Job Description:
Coordinated use of Training, Engineering, Vendors and Operations line/staff is important. Daily plant inspections are required to ensure operations are proceeding as scheduled and that the product is being manufactured according to cGMPs and Company SOPs. The qualified candidate will be expected to participate and show leadership in the qualification and validation cycle for organizational changes, recommend measures designed to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product; initiate requests for new machinery, tools and equipment, keep abreast of new process equipment and technology, as well as direct and monitor the timely institution and completion of effective, thorough on-the-job training programs for newly hired, current and promoted employees. The incumbent will be expected to plan, implement, and monitor a continuing program to cross-train the CR workforce. The Plant Manager will be expected to enforce governmental safety and health regulations including EPA, OSHA, and cGMPs, and ensure that products manufactured meet governmental, customer and company quality standards. Communication with QC Laboratory is vital to resolve any lab issues which may affect the output or quality of raw materials or finished products in CR. All applicants must possess a Masters Degree, preferably in a science or engineering field of study, five plus years of production experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment, experience in Controlled Release pharmaceutical or chemical processing plant operations, as well as, significant experience leading teams to achieve Continuous Improvement results in a cost competitive environment.
