Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising downstream biologics manufacturing in a cGMP production environment. Responsibilities will include the chromatographic purification of plasmid DNA and proteins, ultrafiltration, formulation and other biologics production activities. He/She will work under the direction of manufacturing management to schedule production and meet project timelines. The Manufacturing Supervisor will ensure operators are trained and accurately follow standard operating procedures and document data in batch production records. He/She will write/revise batch production records, standard operating procedures and other documents used in downstream manufacturing. The Manufacturing Supervisor will have a thorough knowledge of the operation and maintenance of manual and automated manufacturing equipment (chromatography systems, centrifuges, laminar flow hoods, pumps, filters, spectrophotometers, gel electrophoresis, autoclaves, etc.). He/She will ensure the cGMP equipment is properly maintained. The Manufacturing Supervisor will interface with Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Validation, Project Management, Materials Management and other internal departments. He/She will demonstrate a thorough understanding of the technical aspects and cGMP procedures of downstream processing and train manufacturing operators. May act as a lead on manufacturing processes. Requirements: The qualified candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a life Sciences discipline or equivalent work experience.
