Job Description: Communicates knowledge of music history (American, European, and non-Western) Uses variety of instructional methods and curriculum resources to present material to students. Works as a team member, sharing common planning, professional development, curriculum design, and teaching responsibilities. Administers different forms of student assessments, communicate with parents and other team members about student progress, and plan for further instruction. Reflective of their own practice, acts as a coach for team members. Integrates technology into teaching and professional activities. Understands and implements general music theories and practices, including vocal and instrumental music, basic note reading and composition Is able to play the recorder and piano/keyboard Understands processes and history of traditional instruments across a wide range of cultures Develops cross-curricular units and intensives with house teachers and integrates music into the general curriculum Emphasizes a process-based approach to music instruction Differentiates instruction based on the needs of the students in each classroom. Establishes, nurtures, manages, and enhances student-directed classroom through independent and group work, playing instruments, and using dance/movement Plans and organizes school and community music events, such as concerts and musician-in-residence programs Organizes and directs a school chorus Organizes, implements, and oversees instrumental lessons in Kindergarten and above.

Job Requirements: Must have valid certificate or proof of eligibility. A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Specific knowledge of subject assigned.
