Under general direction, Senior Civil Engineers are responsible for managing highly visible and sensitive projects, and for supervising subordinate engineering staff performing several projects. Civil Engineers and Senior Civil Engineers are distinguished from other engineering classes by registration with the State of California as a Professional Engineer.
