Job Description:
Ensures safety of staff and compliance with all stateand federal regulations.- Coordinates/supervises daily schedules and workload oflead technologists, histotechnologists, histotechniciansand lab assistants.- Maintains quality standards for all staining and otherspecialized procedures.- Maintains all equipment in operational state.- Works with warehouse to maintain stocks of suppliesand reagents.- Works with AP Director to develop, implement andmaintain documentation and procedures to comply withgovernment regulations/inspections.- Participates in interviewing, hiring and training ofnew employees.- Appraises performance and sets employee goals.- Monitors and approves time cards.- Performs daily quality control for IHC stains.- Maintains staff training and competency records.- Implements corrective action procedures to eliminaterecurring issues.- Actively participates on the Quality Improvement Teamand implements all action items.- Addresses complaints and resolves problems.- Represents AP department in a professional manner.- Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Skills: Education: B.S., or HT (ASCP) or HTL (ASCP) or equivalent experience and training. - Ensures established production levels are maintained and departmental performance is within established parameters for accuracy.
