Description:
The Data Warehouse Developer, Senior is a hybrid position as compared to larger shops in the industry. It combines the role of consultant, troubleshooter, extract, transform and load (ETL) and/or Siebel Subject Area developer into a single position. The percentage of each responsibility varies based on time & project assignments. This position collaborates in the evolving architecture of **************’s data resources which include and may not be limited to data warehouse, data mart or ODS (Operational Data Store). This involves either changing existing data models or developing new models to support new or expanded data content. As a consultant, this position is called upon to support other IT and business projects assisting the organization to take advantage of **************’s data resources. As a troubleshooter, this position is involved in the day-to-day operations of the data resources, helping to solve data quality issues and working with database administration to ensure optimal query processing. As a developer, this position designs and develops ETL and/or Siebel Subject Areas to load and make available data
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline or experience. Advanced training in data management practices and data modeling techniques. 3 - 5 years of Informatica. 5 plus years of one or more of the following; Development Life Cycle, Oracle PL/SQL, UNIX Shell and Perl Script. Intermediate level plus 5+ years as a Data Warehouse Developer with a strong understanding of all data management activities. Supervisory or project leadership experience. Technical data management and systems tools experience. Prototyping and benchmarking experience. 4+ years developing database load processes with multiple database procedural languages, general programming languages (C, Cobol, etc), or an engine based ETL tool. Demonstrated ability to design and develop complex database load and maintenance processes and/ or demonstrated ability to design and develop complex Siebel Analytics Subject Areas or comparable experience with a similar tool such as Cognos, Business Objects, etc. Experience with industry standard data modeling tools. Intermediate knowledge of project management, dataflow diagramming, and logical data modeling practices. Capable oral and written communication skills. Ability to give work direction. Ability to provide clear technical documentation
