Primary responsibilities include defining business strategy, developing necessary engineering infrastructure, staffing, and delivering core SW stacks for internal and external UPSG customers. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to: - Planning, providing resources for and directing activities in engineering function to meet schedules, standards, and cost - Cultivating and reinforcing appropriate group values, norms and behaviors - Identifying and analyzing problems, plans, tasks, and solutions - Providing guidance on employee development, performance, and productivity issues - Planning and scheduling daily tasks, using judgment on a variety of problems requiring deviation from standard practices. Inadequacies and erroneous decisions would cause moderate inconvenience and expense Qualifications You should possess a Master's degree with ten years or a Bachelor of Science degree with 12 years experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering. Additional qualifications include: - Knowledge of Software Product life cycle - Experience leading validation and build and release efforts for Software - Experience in writing Test plans from MRDs, PRDs and Use cases - Experience with Software Validation, Build, Release and Configuration Management - Experience leading cross-site, cross-geo teams - Experience with moblin.org (Mobile Linux) - Experience with Linux* community and Linux* distributions
