Vocational training or equivalent training in construction and at at least two years experience preferable working on roof installation projects and at least one year roof estimating experience. JOB DESCRIPTION/SUMMARY: The person occupying the position of Estimator shall prepare estimated and proposals, provides project management support through the coordination of job activities from start to finish and ensures jobs are completed within budget as per scope. The incumbent will be responsible for preparing estimates to achieve company gross profit margin goal, prepares materials take off, estimates other direct costs and purchases materials and other job requirements for job and provides general coordination for job activities. BASIC FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB: Manage the conversion of accepted proposals into properly completed jobs, within budget, on time and at acceptable quality levels. He/She resolves follows up on any warranty issues and other claims with suppliers. Assumes profit and loss responsibility for assigned jobs by ensuring jobs are estimated to achieve gross profit margin and project management support provided to ensure jobs are completed within budget. Ensures sufficient work volume is secured to support company operations through utilization of lead sources to supplement bid volume Prepares estimates consistent with format or guidelines provided and maximize utilization of available systems for project management and job costs analysis.
