Job Description:
Strong floor supervision with hands on involvement in production operations. Responsible for all production and development activities including personnel related functions. Plan and schedule all production activities. Implement transition of new product development to production, ensuring all training and build knowledge is complete for production. Establish both production and R& D build plans and interact with production control for scheduling and inventory purposes. Assess manpower needs and develop capacity plans. Have working knowledge of all new processes and procedures relating to new products. Assess transition difficulties relating to product/processes and interact with new product development teams to ensure processes and designs are compatible. Review and analyze equipment, tooling and production floor layouts for current and future needs. Interpret production needs and ensure that manufacturing systems meet those needs. Ensure manufacturing efficiency by cost, quality, yield, scrap and throughput analysis. Establish metrics for all key indicators in the department. Be directly involved in the training of personnel and development of training plans for all employees and maintain accurate training records. Ensure calibration of equipment are performed per the prescribed due dates. Review and approve documentation. Prepare and update required written procedures and policies for the department. Be actively involved in or lead VIP Project and R&D meetings and Quality Circle meetings.
