SCADA/ FIBER OPTIC ENGINEER
Location: Orlando, FL

SCOPE:
Responsible for Sales and Marketing support of PCD2000 and VR-3 Recloser Product lines (knowledge of PCD not required for position – only knowledge of relays is required). Duties include pre sale technical assistance and support of protection, communication and comparisons with competitive products. The primary focus on units installed in outdoor breakers (R) and reclosers (VR &VR-3S) as well as retrofit products (Cooper & ESV). The Application Engineer will interface routinely with customers, sales personnel, marketing and engineering teams, as well as key support personnel at other company facilities. The Engineer must be able to make recommendations to the customer on proper application for their systems. Knowledge of communication systems and protocol are a must. Long term goal will be to provide technical support of all US DMS product lines.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide technical support of PCD2000, VR-3 for field sales, and Marketing personnel.
• Set up training sessions in each regional to promote technical competence in field sales.
• Support from the factory is acceptable however position requires Domestic and international travel to support sales objectives.
• Respond to technical PCD2000 application questions including communications, configuration settings,
connection of hardware media, & how to apply a modem or radio in a VR-3S application
• Document customer problems and initiate CCRPs
• Capture and record customer feedback on product improvements
• Maintain current and thorough understanding of PCD2000 and related equipment (breakers, reclosers, retrofits) and PowerRich communications with continuing knowledge of other DMS products Safegear, Sensors, Cutouts etc.
• Interface with and provide assistance to PCD Support Technicians as required.
• Maintain extensive contact with customers and sales channels, including company Power T&D Service
• Distribute literature as needed including product support bulletins, software (including upgrades), competitor analysis, engineering data, etc.)
• Prepare proposals for VR-3 and PCD 2000 products. When discussing with Sales channels, must understand pricing and products.
• Interpret customer specifications and apply available standards to greatest extent possible to meet contractual requirements.
• Working in team effort with Engineering and Marketing personnel on new proposals and orders.
• Work closely with development on software issues regarding the PCD2000 and product revisions

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• Must have a strong background in relay products
• Must be familiar with DNP, ModBus, & IEC protocols
• Must be familiar with Fiber Optic Interfaces
• Must possess high levels of energy and the ability and desire to provide the highest level of customer service
• Must be assertive and efficient with a self-motivated work ethic
• Excellent communication and problem solving skills required. Must interface with customers (internal & external) on a daily basis
