General Overview:
AspiraNet seeks part-time, creative and dynamic instructors to be part of a team dedicated to providing after school programs for Oakland youth. The After School Instructor will work closely with the Site Coordinator to develop and implement curriculum focused on increasing skill in academics, creative and performing arts, technology and recreation for groups of up to 20 students. The After School Instructor will have the opportunity to use their own interests and talents to develop enrichment classes as well as emphasize building academic skills.

AspiraNet seeks applicants who possess the skills to teach the following academic and/or enrichment classes at the elementary or middle school level:

Job Requirements:
Job Responsibilities:
• Develop daily lesson plans under supervision of the Site Coordinator.
• Provide academic instruction that actively engages low-level learners and students with various abilities.
• Lead project-based, “Club Groups” in; humanities, journalism, English language development, math enrichment or technology. (Middle School)
• Review program work plans with supervisor or teacher for effective program implementation.
• Implement discipline techniques and classroom management.
• Clean and maintain the facilities, classrooms and equipment.
• Interact professionally and appropriately with parents, teachers and school staff.
• Participate in program staff meetings and on-going training opportunities.
• Comply with all Oakland Unified School District (OUSD) policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
1. Minimum 1 year experience working with diverse youth in an organized setting
2. Minimum 44 units of credit toward undergraduate degree, or ability to pass a school district test.
3. Familiar with PC/Mac operating systems and MS office applications
4. Meets all state required conditions of employment as set forth by Community Care Licensing for a Licensed Community Care facility; i.e. Fingerprint and child Abuse Index clearance, TB/Health Physical, valid CDL and clean driving record.
Program instructor positions are 8-20 hours per week for 10 months from Mid-August to mid-June.
