Job Description:
BS Degree in physical therapy is required. PT shall have a minimum of 3-4 year\'s experience as a full time practicing PT in the last five years with 90% of time in an outpatient setting. Certification in orthopedics or sports medicine is highly desired as well as a background in manual therapy. Possess and maintain at all times current certification in BCLS. Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is encouraged but not required. DUTIES: a. Establish, maintain, control, protect, and dispose of records. b. Adhere to the Privacy Act, Title 5 of the US Code, Section 552a and applicable agency rules and regulations. c. Completes comprehensive neuro-muscularskeletol evaluations (in a physician extender role). d. Uses appropriate screening and diagnostic tests which may include ordering radiographic and laboratory studies, prescribing limited medications, writing physical profiles and quarters for active duty personnel and providing referral to specialty clinics as needed. e. Implements treatment plans to facilitate the patient\'s recovery and return to optimal functional status. f. Maintains health records in accordance with Army regulations and provides documentation of evaluations, tests and treatment. g. Discusses with and educates the patient, his/her family members and other health care providers on matters relating to the delivery of physical therapy care. h. Directs and coordinates military and civilian physical therapy assistants and technicians engaged in performing physical therapy care and treatment.
