Responsibilities All areas of responsibility listed below are essential to the satisfactory performance of this position by any incumbents with reasonable accommodation if necessary. Any non-essential functions are assumed to be included in other related duties or assignments. * Assists senior directors and medical directors in timely development of a Clinical Operating Plan for each project/indication and ensures that proper procedures are undertaken for the planning and management of clinical trials to meet corporate and departmental objectives. * Directs clinical research project teams in the development and execution of all clinical study programs. * Provides accurate and timely progress reports on clinical programs to Senior Director and others as required. * Interfaces regularly and effectively with biostatistics, data management, and product safety teams. * Co-Monitor with in-house, contract and CRO CRAs to ensure compliance with SOPs, processeses, and procedures. * Review and give input on all necessary study related documents, e.g. protocol, CRFs, informed consents, etc. * Establish departmental reporting metrics and standards. * Reviews and approves clinical outsourcing specifications for RFPs. * Recruits, hires, trains, manages and develops CRAs and Clinical Trial Managers, and provide regular feedback on performance. * Leads or coordinates initiatives to improve processes within Clinical Operations. Ensures departmental processes are efficient and comply with applicable regulatory requirements. * Oversees the execution of Clinical Trial Agreements, the approval of clinical study budgets, and the management of CROs, vendors, and consultants. * Prepares annual clinical research budget and assists in preparation of departmental operation budget.
