Job Description: SUMMARY
It is the responsibility of the Heavy Duty CPE team to define, develop and introduce the combustion, performance, emissions and aftertreatment recipes for Heavy Duty automotive new products and derivatives as well as provide emissions test and analysis support of current product Heavy Duty engines. New product performance development activities are focused on definition of hardware, software, and calibration specifications through analytical and empirical methods that best meet the technical performance requirements of the project.
„X Conduct test cell and vehicle experiments to determine hardware and software specifications that best meet the technical performance requirements of the project „X Conduct test cell and vehicle experiments to determine calibration parameter specifications that best meet the technical performance requirements of the project „X Use analytical tools and models to assist in determining hardware, software, and calibration specifications that best meet the technical performance requirements of the project „X Develop and manage analytical or empirical test plans „X Manage responsible test cell(s), vehicle(s) and technician(s) „X Use current and develop new analysis tools „X Analyze, report, and act on test information „X Troubleshoot engine, test cell, and vehicle problems with technicians and facility experts „X Document methods, test results, and other information as required „X Participate in team engine performance and calibration design reviews „X Provide support to other Heavy Duty development teams on performance related issues „X Provide support to current product performance teams „X Provide support for Internal Emissions audit failures by determining an appropriate course of action including conducting additional CVS tests „X Conduct Emissions transparency tests as required for all current product changes. This includes reviewing all product changes for potential impact and recommending appropriate testing
Job Requirements: „X Minimum BSME or equivalent degree „X Performance development testing and analysis experience „X Emissions testing and analysis experience „X Proficiency in Excel and Matlab „X Experience in engine and engine systems simulations „X Knowledge of engine control systems „X Knowledge/experience in engine aftertreatment systems „X Working knowledge of product introduction processes, DFSS tools and processes, and quality procedures „X Must have ability to work in conjunction with team member both in immediate team and other project teams „X Must be willing to seek aid and advice proactively „X Must be able to work effectively with other having diverse backgrounds „X Willingness to train others on performance development topics or other areas of expertise „X Ability to manage test cell and vehicle activities including technician interface
