Job Description:
Will manage the shop supervisory team and the activities within the manufacturing environment. Primary responsibilities will consist of: Scope & Responsibilities: Identify lean manufacturing opportunities for continuous improvement projects based on current production issues and implement proposed changes in working practices and/or systems. Analyze, design, and implement lean manufacturing work cells using effective systems by optimizing use of space, equipment, material, and personnel. Research new lean manufacturing technologies and equipment in order to manufacture and reduce costs through improved efficiencies. Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. Implement process improvements to reduce manufacturing lead times by defining and implementing objectives in each area of operation for continuous improvement. Execute lean manufacturing goals, and performance must meet or beat budgeted performance parameters. Manages lean manufacturing operations, including all activities of the shop floor and follow established procedures and approved processes. Leads and manages the activities of all manufacturing employees involved in lean production or processing of products, including rapid improvement efforts when necessary. Report to management and engineering regarding product design to ensure efficient production methods and quality results. Directs with supervisors to coordinate lean operations and activities within or between departments. Leads associates through lean manufacturing change initiatives. Develops methods for measuring work performance against standards. Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment to establish measurements. Develop, implement, and trend process metrics to continuously monitor the lean manufacturing process. Analyzes variances to standards, identifies out-of-control variances, investigates causes, and implements solutions.
