Job Description:
Under the general direction of the Chief Operating Investment Officer (COIO), the Portfolio Manager (PM) will provide oversight, coordination, and implementation in the settlement of internally traded assets, performance monitoring, performance payments for externally managed funds, provides appraisal and valuation of Real Estate and Inflation Linked assets, and provides across asset class investment technology development and research. The PM is the principal policy maker for the custody relationship for the Public Employees' Retirement Fund (PERF). The PM coordinates with Investment regulatory bodies and other public pension systems to increase and enhance the effectiveness of INVO's representation to its members, Board of Administration and the legislature. The PM will represent the CIO, COIO and SIO's at industry related investment events, at the legislature and in meeting with constitutional officers as requested. The PM uses their significant technical investment expertise to support the complex investment program managed by the CalPERS investment staff. The PM serves as the principal investment professional in reporting the performance of the Public Employees Retirement Fund, as well as the other affiliate funds such as the Judge's and Legislator's Retirement Funds. The PM sets policy for the performance of the benchmarking firms and data providers providing external performance indicators to INVO to which staff can measure their performance.
