Job Description:
This is the manager in charge of all commercial and industrial (C&I) and commercial real estate (CRE) credit underwriting and monitoring for the bank with reporting responsibility to the Chief Lending Officer. Supervises the underwriting of commercial loans received in the Business Banking Department. Provides analysis as necessary. Determines needed documentation to support the credit decisions and is responsible for reviewing the final loan to make sure it is in compliance with the approval. Supervises a staff of credit analysts. Supervises and analyzes as necessary all business and personal financial statements with an emphasis on detailed balance sheet and cash flow analysis. Prepares credit analysis as necessary. Assigns credit ratings based on a thorough risk assessment of the request and/or existing loan. Assists the branches in underwriting issues. Stays abreast of lending activities, competition, and economic conditions to ensure that the Bank's programs keep a competitive edge in the market. Provides staff training as needed to ensure a better understanding of commercial credit within the underwriting staff and BBO's. Provides the on-going monitoring and management of the commercial loan portfolio for credit risk, including but not limited to covenant and borrowing base certificate compliance, information regarding the portfolio direction, customer base, collateral support, delinquency and losses. Initiates and follows to resolution credit alerts when necessary. Identifies and develops strategies for turnaround situations and relationships to be exited. Make referral to workout area for loans no longer performing.
