Job Description:
One of the nation's largest foodservice distribution companies, is currently seeking a Transportation Manager for the Norwich, CT division.The successfully candidate will manage a team of delivery drivers, routing, truck scheduling and vehicle maintenance.Oversee timely and accurate deliveries of customer orders.Manager Drivers and Fleet to ensure compliance with US Foodservice Safety Programs and all FMCSR, State and DOT regulations.Manage driver's hours of service: audit drivers logs.Provide leadership and direction to all subordinates to insure their development.Develop staffing requirements, recruit, hire and train drivers.Identify inefficiencies within the transportation department and seek process improvement programs. Job Requirements: 5 + years of experience in Transportation Management, preferable in the Foodservice Distribution Industry.Broad knowledge of the distribution business including fleet, warehouse, logistics.Hands on experience with automated routing and on board computers is requiredExcellent interpersonal, leadership and customer service skillsStrong computer skills, Excel and WordOutstanding problem solving skillsHigh School diploma required. Must be flexible to work modified shifts to support division's needs.
