Job Description:
Reviews the technical accuracy and adequacy of, and approves diagrams, drawings, calculations, studies, specifications, bidders lists, and other technical documents involving engineering matters in his/her discipline for projects, except for those documents specifically requiring Chief Engineer approval. Reviews the competence and performance of all members of his/her staff, and advises and guides members of his/her staff relative to their technical and professional development. With the concurrence of his/her Chief Engineer provides necessary project supervisory, engineering and specialist manning as mutually agreed upon with the Project Manager, and supports the operating companies in their contacts with clients. Assures that all technical standards developed are utilized on all projects where applicable to provide minimum man-hour expenditure and a controlled level of design quality. Assures that the sequencing and performance of requisite engineering efforts such as criteria, diagrams, system description, general arrangement, analyses and studies are organized to properly lead and support an orderly and efficient design process. Assures that the technical review and approval actions are being conducted according to the applicable corporate project procedures effectively; that proper combinations of sampling and in-depth checks are being utilized; and that reviews and approvals are being conducted at proper levels of supervision.
