Job Description:
SENIOR PLANNING ENGINEERS - will be reporting to Commercial Manager
- Function as a main advisory to the Planning Manager at a section/sub-section level in all issues concerning planning, scheduling, project measurement, delays, and corrective actions and on the required resources
- To measure & monitor progress to get the actual production rates & to analyze progress & time delays & propose corrective actions to the package & planning managers o be able to consequently meet the milestone dates & provide all planning reports
- Initiate & maintain close liason with all members of the Project team & client representatives on program issues
- Ensure all planning activities comply with current processes & procedures & ensure adherence to Base line schedules
- To make time schedules for various packages & set the strategy of the package planning team and identify the role of each planner
- To coordinate with the package & planning managers to produce the package work program as well as any special programs for sub-areas, sub-contractors & for different structural elements
- Represent planning function at meetings & undertake team briefing; provide leadership, support & training, & contribute to career development; supervise planning engineers PLANNING ENGINEERS - will be reporting to Sr. Planning Engineer
- Update/produce weekly & monthly progress reports & produce KPI's histograms & S-curves
- Production of short term programmes & review planned vs. actual resource levels
- Conduct site inspections in consultation with site engineers to acquire updated information on progress of the section with the actual & planned figures
- Assist in the MIS generation
- Coordinate with various departments as necessary, like Procurement & Technical
- Assist the Sr. Planning Engineer/Package planner in assessing & recording on-site progress production & updating of Mater programmes, produce & update short term programmes
- Undertake additional responsibilities & tasks as required by the project/business KEY SKILLS:
- High degree of proficiency in the use & application of different scheduling software packages specially P3 (Primavera Project Planning)
- Excellent with MS Office
- Competent and confident in technical aspects of planning
- Able to provide quality information within deadlines
- Proactive interaction with other departments
- Good communicator
- Team player
- Presentation skills
