Job Description: Summary
1) The Plant Engineer will play a key role in providing engineering support for daily operations, delivering Integrity Management (IM) 2) The Plant Engineer is responsible for providing technical input and oversight to operations and maintenance activities 3) Provide operations and engineering input/advise to Company’s Corporate Engineer and Chief Operating Officer. 4) Focused on engineering projects, maintenance, and improvement programs. 5) Develops and leads plant specific engineering and maintenance programs and strategies to achieve key performance goals. 6) Develops processes to ensure implementation of low loss production systems. 7) Provides solutions to technical problems and recommendations for improvements in production activities, and manages the plant technical organization. 8) Creates, implements, and manages all plant technical expense budgets. 9) Works with Corporate Engineering & COO to deliver the capital budget.
Position Responsibilities
1) Ensure that all process/facility systems are properly resourced and that all resources are efficiently utilized. 2) Direct maintenance coordinators in their roles and responsibilities to meet plant objectives in safety, quality, cost, 3) Provide technical support for troubleshooting/problem solving and maintenance repair to maximize efficiencies and limit downtime. 4) Apply sound engineering solutions to resolve hindrances to plant efficiencies and to drive continuous improvement. 5) Lead employee training, and development to maximize production, quality, and safety goals 6) This position implements projects and measures to maintain and ensure state of the art safety and process technology in order to minimize cost, provide high product quality and to maximize plant availability.
Job Requirements: Position Qualifications
1) 5-7 Years engineering experience in a manufacturing, production, or refinery environment 2) 3-5 Years Supervisory/Project Management experience with emphasis in plant, tank farm, construction or expansions. 3) Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. The candidate should possess a BS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering. 4) The candidate requires knowledge of process techniques in mechanical and thermal processes, process design, manufacturing technology and automation of processes. 5) Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, 6) Strong computer application skills. Advanced chemical engineering computer tools is essential 7) Excellent cooperation with Production, Maintenance, and Technical Departments. 8) Provide day-to-day engineering and technical support to operations. 9) Function as technical reviewer and resource for various parts of Process Safety Management (PSM) and IM standard. 10) Process hazards analysis, facilities hazard identification, pre-startup safety reviews, etc. 11) Conduct debottle-necking and optimization studies in support of operations. 12) Lead small engineering projects from conceptual design to installation and operation. 13) A strong understanding of Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&ID’s), instrument/controls and unit operations.
