Job Description:
The successful candidate will report directly to the Assistant Director of Athletics for Athletic Communications. Along with assisting all aspects of media relations for the university's 19 varsity programs, the intern will work directly with selected teams to effectively promote and publicize the department of athletics and its student athletes. The intern must have demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills. In addition to the daily maintenance of the Athletics Website, the intern will produce media guides and other printed materials. Applicants must have knowledge of word processing, desktop publishing and the use of other software such as Photoshop, Automated Scorebook and StatCrew. The individual must be reliable, able to multitask and perform under conflicting deadlines. Job duties require some nights, weekends, holidays as well as some travel.
