RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist the Portfolio Manager in managing. securities portfolios. Execute securities transactions that could total several billion dollars in a manner that optimizes the expected outcome. Identify, analyze, present, and execute relative value trade opportunities that exist in the MBS/Agency/Corp. market. Understand the characteristics of mortgage-backed pools and agency/whole-loan mortgage products that define value. Determine the appropriateness of the value that the market assigns to various products. Manage Broker resources to add incremental value to the portfolio. Interface with appropriate business units to address forecasting, reporting, operational, and technological issues. Provide pricing guidance and analytical support for the residential mortgage portfolio. Stay abreast of developments in the economy and understand the impact that they have on the portfolio. Understand the impact that regulatory and accounting issues have on the portfolio. Oversee and execute all accounting entries and ensure proper accounting for the portfolio. Assist in management of other office duties as needed.REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of 2 years experience in a Balance Sheet Management environment or related experience in fixed income financial markets, trading bonds. Experience trading a wide range of fixed income financial products. Experience trading whole-loan residential mortgage packages. Experience executing large individual transactions in a dynamic market environment. Experience managing a large mortgage-backed securities portfolio of at least $25 billion in size. Experience in the securitization process for residential mortgage loans. Ability to manage Broker relationships.
