Job Description:
The candidate must have excellent research, analytical, problem-solving, writing and communication skills in an office specializing in transportation and environmental planning. This position requires a bachelor's degree in planning, environmental sciences, engineering, or a related field (a master's degree is a plus); a minimum of 15+ years relevant experience; knowledge of NEPA; and an understanding of Texas state and local agency practices. MAJOR DUTIES: · Oversees the preparation of budget for department · Recruits and retains other key staff · Oversees the schedule performance for projects · Trains and coaches project managers on business development · Provides strategic direction for cultivating new client relations and maintains strong business relationships · Implements strategic goals, leads business development activities, and provides proactive guidance and efficient resource management · Provides and demonstrates leadership of staff · Makes presentations to clients, government officials, and industry representatives. · Stays abreast of industry changes and requirements, policies, procedures and legislation Other duties as assigned Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Planning, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, or related field. and a minimum of 15 years progressively responsible experience in environment or planning or research-related activities (or equivalent working knowledge/experience). Master's degree preferred. Must have managerial/supervisory experience. Individual must possess high-level analytical abilities, statistical background, and advanced computer and writing skills.
