Job Description:
The Project Manager conducts problem-solving investigations that require a sound knowledge of engineering principles and project management practices in a multi-disciplined environment. Responsibilities will include: Formulating the detailed plan for the investigation under the guidance and mentoring of an existing department employee; Interacting with the operating and other staff personnel as appropriate to execute the scope of the project/work requested; Communicating the results, both orally and written to the appropriate personnel; Managing capital and cost projects, including identification of the business case, initial planning, developing scope, determining benefits, estimating cost, preparing and submitting appropriations/cost authorizations, coordinating and managing contracted services, managing construction activities, commissioning and start-up and cost control; Implementing Project Delivery System in the implementation of all capital projects; and Supervising and directing engineering suppliers, contractors, manufacturers and study teams. Must have Bachelors of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, or Construction Engineering is required. Have a minimum of 5 years project management experience in heavy manufacturing industry is required. Be familiar with a gated capital project development process.
