Manages staff's daily workload and workflow (i.e., assign, distribute, review, and adjust staff workload as necessary to maintain productivity and efficiency) ' Evaluate, recommend and assist in implementing process improvements for the department ' Respond to and resolve inquiries or requests from business units; editorial groups; legal department; contracts department; authors; agents and other groups both inside and outside the company ' Select, develop and train a competent and motivated staff ' Conducts performance appraisals; makes salary recommendations; and gives timely performance feedback ' Oversees the efforts needed and preparation of information applicable to author audits ' Integrations/Divestitures/Conversions ' Serves as coordinator for their area ' Works closely with systems group to resolve issues and determine future system requirements ' Provides functional expertise as needed (i.e., on the business; royalty system and operations). Anticipates royalty issues and develops strategies to address ' Overall responsibility for royalty department performance measures for their group ' Provides business groups with meaningful metrics and analysis
