Job Description:
The Coordinator for Student Media Organizations provides leadership for key student media organization functions and assists in the overall management of the Student Activities Office (SAO) on a diverse urban campus. Responsibilities include direct oversight and daily oversight and advisement of five student media organizations which include the student newspaper, the campus based radio station, Que Ondee Sola (a Latino publication), Apocalypse Literary Magazine, and the development and advisement of the Media Board. Further, the Coordinator for Student Media Organizations is part of the Student Activities Office leadership team and assists in providing leadership development and education efforts that support the retention goals of the University. This includes direct involvement with the management, training, and advisement of 70+ student organizations and serving as a representative of the office in University-wide initiatives such as University committees and New Student Orientations. The Coordinator for Student Media Organizations supervises a part-time campus radio station technician. The Coordinator reports the Assistant Director for the Student Activities Office. Qualifications: Bachelor\'s degree in Journalism or a related field and 2 or more years of professional experience in media or higher education. Master\'s degree preferred.
