Position Summary The Volunteer Engagement Manager supports the mission of United Way by working with the Community Impact team to develop, implement and measure a volunteer engagement strategy that aims to create the opportunities for improving lives for all by focusing volunteer efforts on community impact issues; education, income and health. The Volunteer Engagement Manager will work with volunteers, donors, community partners, business, government, labor, faith-based organizations and staff to engage volunteers in meaningful, quality volunteer roles that make a measurable difference in the quality of life for people in the community. Position Accountabilities: 1. Leads the organizational effort to maximize the involvement of volunteers and donors by creating and implementing an engagement strategy for each priority area of the community impact agenda. 2. Coordinates and supports various collaborative partnerships (traditional and non-traditional, internal and external) by identifying/creating/promoting a continuum of volunteer engagement in targeted impact areas. 3. Manages United Way\'s annual Days of Caring event as well as other community-wide and collaborative volunteer and advocacy opportunities. 4. Identifies grant funding and sponsorship opportunities to support and enhance the volunteer engagement strategy. 5. Builds community capacity to plan.
