Job Description:
The professional and management workload encountered is of the character, complexity and scope characteristic of a 120 bed DM&S Medical Center and a 40 bed Nursing Home Care Unit combined with an active outpatient service. The incumbent is responsible for supervising the activities of Inpatient Pharmacy staff. This includes, but is not limited to the following: Routinely assigns, directs and reviews the work of subordinates including registered pharmacists GS-11 and pharmacy technicians. The incumbent reviews the section\'s operation, prepares projections and justifications for budget, personnel, equipment and space requirements. Insures that all shelf life items are controlled and provides day to day inventory controls and develops and maintains security for controlled inventories. Responsible for all administrative supervision of employees assigned to the section\'s operation Conducts pre-employment interviews make selection to fill vacancies. The incumbent is responsible for the development and training of the employees, reviews all new policy directives and is responsible for workflow procedures equipment utilization and improved work methods. Qualifications: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level close to the work of this job that has given you the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform. Typically we would find this experience in work within this field or a field that is closely related.
