Job Description:
The MDN executive director will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Midwest Democracy Network. Specific duties will include: 1) Maintaining the MDN Website, www.midwestdemocracynetwork.org The MDN website requires regular maintenance to ensure it stays current with the activities of the network and its partner units, including uploading content, archiving old materials, and staying connected to relevant news from around the region and the nation. 2) Fundraising The MDN is looking for a candidate that can research funding opportunities, establish relationships with funders, and help to develop grant proposals to fund general operating costs and new project initiatives. 3) Organizing Meetings The MDN Executive Director will be responsible for organizing and managing the logistics of Network, Steering Committee and other affiliate meetings. 4) Project Development The Executive Director will be responsible for managing the evolution and oversight of Network projects and region-wide policy research initiatives, including the management of consultants and keeping key parties alert to developments and deadlines as they arise. 5) Maintain and Diversify Network Partnerships The Executive Director will support MDN\'s growth by seeking potential new members throughout the region, as well as identifying opportunities and appropriate venues for communicating our message with like-minded partners around the country.
