Job Description:
The Vice President has four direct reports responsible for the following areas: programs, government/public affairs, membership, and online education. AACC has a full range of association activities, including: publications, education, awards programs, employment services and government and public affairs. Its 9,500 members, the lion's share of who have PhDs, work in a range of professional environments including: academia, clinical laboratories, hospitals, and private corporations. This position reports directly to the Executive Vice President. AACC has approximately 60 employees and has a budget of $16.5MM. Please see their website: www.aacc.org. Requirements Knowledge of the medical or scientific community is highly desirable. Ability to create strategic synergies among various departments, as well as outside organizations and opportunities, is essential. Experience in serving as an interface between highly technical professionals and the operations and service elements of an association highly desirable. Must be able to translate big picture needs into feasible and achievable programs and services. Strong entrepreneurial instincts and the ability to work with various stakeholders are essential. Responsibilities -Assists and supports AACC volunteer leaders in the development of innovative, quality programs designed to enhance and improve the diagnoses and treatment of patients. -Oversees and facilitates program related meetings, audio-conferences and webinar programs. Raises funds for programs as needed. Gathers and evaluates needed data. Creates/approves budgets, promotional plans and materials, program development, participant manuals and any other attendant materials.
