Job Description:
-- This position is a senior level tester and will operate in a test lead capacity.
-- Selected applicant will be called upon to lead and execute test efforts through system integration and regression phases.
-- Understand requirements & technical specifications; assess system in order to identify areas for QA testing; develop QA test scenarios and execute test plans and cases.
-- Ensure that testing activities allow application changes to not adversely affect existing functionality and that system integrity is maintained.
-- Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas in IT systems and projects across the organization.
-- Collaborate with software/systems personnel in application testing, such as system, unit, regression, load, and acceptance testing methods.
-- Make recommendations for improvement of applications to programmers and software developers or engineers.
-- Coordinate and communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to project stakeholders and management.
-- Analyze formal test results in order to discover and report any defects, bugs, errors, configuration issues, and interoperability flaws.
-- Participate in developing, distributing, and coordinating in-depth end-user reviews for modified and new systems or applications.
-- Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of quality assurance best practices.
Job Requirements:
-- 5-10 years of testing experience in a production/project support environment
-- Ability to manage several test efforts simultaneously
-- Deep knowledge of software quality assurance and testing methodology
-- Ability to track detailed business requirements to test procedures and test cases
-- Ability to interpret technical specifications and create QA test cases
-- Experience with creating detailed test plans
-- Aptitude to execute QA test cases & accurately report progress and manage test cases
-- Strong verbal and writing skills, including the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with technical resources and business resources.
-- Experience in using IBM’s ClearQuest is a plus
-- Experience in using IBM’s Rational Functional Tester or other automated test tool is a plus
-- Prefer experience in IBM, JDE World and/or .Net environments.
