Demonstrates leadership in the area of safety. This requires an in depth understanding of Company and OSHA safety rules and practices, encouraging safe work behaviors, and promptly correcting conditions, and unsafe behaviors which may lead to accidents and personnel injury. Identifies, and develops innovative methods for improving project management processes and techniques. Drives for continuous improvement in all processes. Manages or participates on project teams to deliver engineering services and projects on time and on budget to the satisfaction of the GENCO customer. Develops a sound working relationship with engineering consultants, contractors, and equipment manufacturer's representatives to the application of their services and products. Directs the verification of the benefits and cost savings resulting from completed engineering projects. Directs and supervises contractors involved in performing advanced, major and complex construction project work. Monitors performance and conformance to all contractual and specification requirements. Enforces OSHA and company safety rules. Actively assists in budgeting process; analyzing facility level projects and activities. Helps to establish and apply corporate values in the compliance to all environmental, safety and other laws and regulations. Develops strategies and plans for implementing advanced, major, and complex engineering projects in support of reliable and efficient plant operation.
