Job Description:
Campus Planning & Facilities (AVP), this position is responsible for oversight and coordination of all design and construction activities supporting the implementation of the Campus Master Plan. You will have the opportunity to: Plan, coordinate and monitor the design, and construction of all capital, repair & alteration, and remodeling projects for the University and all auxiliary units Develop and coordinate project design parameters and scopes for design consultants under the general direction of the AVP Evaluate/recommend project priorities to the AVP Provide technical expertise in developing project descriptions and monitor project budget allocations and ensure projects comply with the Campus Master Plan and Design Guidelines Supervise AES staff and provide oversight management of project managers Serve as liaison to DPW and the Permanent Building Fund Advisory Council regarding all design and construction activities at the University Develop, monitor, upgrade and oversee project tracking, scheduling, resource protocols and processes for all unit activities with emphasis on construction related issues Ensure timely and accurate communication of all construction and design impacts to the university community Maintain complete understanding of all AES project activities in order to communicate and respond effectively to issues as they developThe successful candidate will possess: Demonstrable knowledge in statutes and codes regulating building design and construction Advanced knowledge of building construction, ability to manage complex relationships and oversight systems (preferably in a higher-education environment) Advanced analytical skills in the use of personal computers and applicable software.
