Job Description:
Vendors include pre-clinical, monitoring and management for Phase I, Phase II, Phase III and Phase IV clinical programs, bioequivalence study vendors, analytical and clinical laboratories, data management vendors, independent contractors, investigator meeting coordination vendors, etc. You will develop appropriate tools to perform detailed review of vendor proposals with regard to scope and line item costs to facilitate comparison from vendor to vendor and project to project, define clear benchmarks to insure that performance can be carefully monitored, identify new vendors in the USA, and identify vendors external to the USA and accomplish at least 25% of external outsourcing. We are seeking an individual who can aggressively negotiate pricing with vendors, creating Request for Information, Request for Proposal and manage bidding and vendor selection process. Bachelor s degree required, MBA is a plus. At least five (5) years of clinical research experience is required. At least three (3) years demonstrated success in negotiating with clinical trial vendors is required. Approximately 20% travel required. Strong negotiating skills are a must. The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to identify and aggressively negotiate with clinical trial vendors both inside and outside of the US to obtain significant cost savings, have detailed knowledge of pricing of and costing of Clinical trials, and have financial training and/or experience including accounting, purchasing or accounts payable and receivable within the clinical trial arena. Thorough knowledge of the clinical development process from pre-clinical to post marketing is a plus.
