The Position: The successful candidate will provide scientific and technical leadership to a group of specialized scientific professionals. The role will primarily involve pharmacokinetics (compartmental and physiological) and require specialized knowledge of WinNonLin, GastroPlus and SimCYP and PK/PD modeling, utilizing NonMem, MatLab, S-Plus. Will additionally conduct critical reviews of modeling information and data to ensure the appropriate progression of programs, develop and implement new concepts, participate with management in establishing short-term and long-term goals and objectives for the department; and ultimately translating these into precise objectives for direct reports. Will prepare and review performance evaluations and recommendations of salary actions for departmental staff as well as be expected to provide scientific and regulatory expertise in selected areas. Who you are: Ph.D/equivalent and typically at least five years of directly applicable experience. Must possess theoretical and technical mastery of field (modeling and simulation) and a proficiency in related fields (general ADME science, pharmaceutics, clinical pharmacology) and have a strong external scientific reputation acquired through scientific interactions and publication of research as well as proven theoretical, technical, and managerial leadership skills as well as proven problem solving skills, leadership and management of a group of scientific professionals. Must possess the ability to critically review the work of others and to develop creative solutions to complex problems along with the ability to effectively communicate across all levels, including effective negotiation skills.
