Job Description Designs Life Safety Systems (fire alarm) utilizing company products to meet requirements of the local authorities and company, UL, and NFPA Standards and Guidelines. Also designs for the incorporation of other low voltage systems including security systems, card access systems, sound systems, nurse call, intercom systems, CCTV/MATV systems, as authorized by the Branch Manager. Responsible for the development of all Branch Technical Support Specialists and Drafters to keep current with new systems and technology. Designs fire detection and security systems and transfers information to drafter for development and document verification. Verifies the sales estimate for equipment requirements and system design and configuration. Verifies all labor and equipment costs associated with system projects prepared in the branch. Supervises the activities of the Branch Technical Support Specialists and Drafters to optimize the utilization of available manpower. Ensures the implementation and utilization of the Engineering Best Practices. Writes the customer software application programming for the microprocessor-based fire, security.
