Accounting and where necessary understand and ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley Requirements. Primary Job functions. 1. Understand, analyze and assist w/ the financial close process relating to DBG (GAAP and STAT) to ensure financial statements are accurately reported. 2. Reconcile and report all intercompany balances between DBG and AIG Affiliates 3. Review all externally distributed closing related reports / exhibits to ensure accuracy and continuity within the department. 4. Ensure all Reinsurance Accounting's closing reports and schedules are verified and supportable. 5. Coordination with Financial and Management Accounting. 6. Identify and assist with the as is business process understandings and documentation. 7. Communicate process improvements and assist management in implementation of improvements (GAAP and STAT) 8. Assist Management on project oversight, implementation and documentation - GAAP and STAT 9. Identify, develop and where necessary implement process improvements for Financial Close process. 10. Understand, perform and report testing and testing results relating to Sarbanes Oxley requirements. 11. Serve in a consulting fashion for financial process to ensure correct accounting treatment 12. Understand and formalize (where possible automate) manual financial close process. 13. Interact w/ external, internal and state regulatory bodies to ensure seamless audit process 14. Certification of Systems Requirements - accounting degree - firm basis GAAP/STAT Accting - understanding reinsurance - insurance accting.
